Residents, Fellows, NPs, and PAs


Medical Center Policy requires that all Incoming House Staff, NPs, and PAs are trained on the Integrated Clinical Information System (ICIS) prior to their start date. Since this system is used for order entry and documentation, training and demonstration of competency is required in order for you to work on the nursing units.  Training consists of an online course and a classroom session. Please follow the training instructions below:

1. Register for a classroom training session using the Online Scheduler. If you are unable to access the online scheduling system, you may request registration assistance by emailing or by calling (212) 263-8770.

  • When registering for a class, please be sure to select ICIS MD-Resident Training 2010, and make note of the selected date and time.
  • An email reply will be sent to confirm each classroom training registration. Seats are limited so please schedule early.

2. Complete the online ‘ICIS Training’ course prior to your scheduled classroom session.  The course is accessible at Medical eLearning Center.

  • Your username is your Kerberos ID (to find your Kerberos ID, go to the NYU Directory at
  • Your password is the month and day of your birth (MMDD).

  • Online training must be completed prior to attending the classroom session.

3. Attend the classroom training session. Pre-registration and the completion of the online course are required before attending a class.

  • We are located in Greenberg Hall at 545 First Avenue, Level C, Training Room C-51. Our office hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm.
  • No walk-ins will be accepted. Registration for the class is required.
  • You must show a valid Hospital ID/VISA/Passport/License when you come for training.
  • Each training session will last approximately 2 hours. You are required to attend and complete the entire session. No credit will be given to anyone that is late or leaves the session early. A quiz must be completed at the end of each session to demonstrate competency in the ICIS system.
  • There are no exceptions to the above requirements.
