ICIS Training for 3rd Year Medical Students

Medical Center Policy requires that all Medical Students are trained on the Integrated Clinical Information System (ICIS) prior to their start date. Since this system is used for order entry and documentation, training is required in order for you to work on the nursing units.  Training consists of an online course.  Please follow the training instructions below:

1.  Complete the ‘ICIS Training’ online course.  The course is accessible at Medical eLearning Center.

  • Your username is your Kerberos ID (to find your Kerberos ID, go to the NYU Directory at http://www.nyumc.net/phonebook/home.do).
  • Password is the month and day of your birth (MMDD).
  • Click here for computer requirements. If you prefer to visit a hospital computer for training click here for locations.
  • If you experience technical difficulties accessing the Medical eLearning Center, please call (212) 263-0123.

2.  All 3rd year medical students are required to complete the ICIS online Training in order to be granted access to ICIS.  Once online training is completed, please call the resource Desk at (212) 263-0123 or email icistraining@nyumc.org or call (212) 263-8770 in order to be activated to use ICIS.

  • If you prefer hands-on practice, you can email icistraining@nyumc.org or by calling (212) 263-8770 to schedule time with a facilitator to demonstrate document entry and to answer any questions.
  • All questions related to training can be directed towards the ICIS Training Department, which can be reached by email at icistraining@nyumc.org or at (212) 263-8770. Please re-visit this site for up-to-date information.
